Our Mission

The purpose of Carter’s Eternal Hope is to glorify Jesus Christ. This organization seeks to share the gospel message of salvation through faith in Jesus. We also seek to share His wonderful promise of heaven and eternal life for those who put their trust in Him. We hope to accomplish our mission through two different avenues. The first avenue is to minister to parents and families who have experienced the death of a young child. The second avenue is to minister directly to children and teenagers so they might develop a relationship with Jesus Christ.

Ministering to Grieving Families:

“Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep, or to grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope. We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.” ~ I Thessalonians 4:13-14

The death of a young child is perhaps the most heart-wrenching experience any family can ever be forced to endure. It seems so unnatural that a precious little one enters this world with so much life and joy, and then exits it so quickly and abruptly. It leaves parents, siblings, and family members asking many grief filled questions. Why did this happen to our family? Where is an all-loving God in this? Why couldn’t I have died in their place? Where is my child now? Will I ever see my child again? Without answers to these questions, parents can find themselves in a pit so deep it seems as if the future is hopeless.

Carter’s Eternal Hope proclaims to such families the hope and promises that can be found in the gospel accounts of Jesus Christ. We seek to share that through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, our precious little ones now reside in His presence in heaven. Furthermore, through a relationship with Christ, we too can one day be reunited with our beloved children for eternity.

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” ~ John 14: 1-3

The promises and illustrations given to us in the Bible proclaim with certainty that our departed little ones are now in the presence of our Heavenly Father. Carter’s Eternal Hope seeks to provide families with resources that pull these promises out of the Bible and present them in a clear and understandable manner. Care packages consisting of selected books and CDs are sent to grieving families. These promises are the one thing that can offer true hope and healing. Financial assistance may also be provided to families in order to help defray expenses to attend Christian grief retreats.

We also seek to point out God’s desire to be with us and to comfort us during these heart-wrenching trials. He is with us, even carries us, during the darkest hours. He too understands what it is like to lose a child. Our Heavenly Father is the God over all things, and is greater than all of the trials we face.

“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” ~ Psalm 23:4

Most importantly, we want families to know that while we grieve an earthly separation, we can grieve with hope. This is because the death of a young child is only a temporary separation for parents who place their faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Ministering to Young People

Carter’s Eternal Hope also seeks to provide young children and teenagers exposure to the gospel message of Jesus Christ. It is quite apparent that the hearts of children are drawn to God. We seek to nurture this faith and help young people to grow in a relationship with Jesus Christ. Sharing the gospel message has the power to change lives today and also for eternity. Carter’s Eternal Hope will seek to provide Bible camp scholarships to those who require financial assistance to attend camp. These scholarships may range from young children wishing to attend vacation Bible school to high school teenagers wanting to attend a week of Bible camp, or anywhere in between. While the provision of scholarships may be the primary means through which Carter’s Eternal Hope seeks to nurture the spiritual growth of children, other options will also be considered.
